This is a very first estimate of the levels of vineyard plots affected by frost at the end of April 2016 in Burgundy. Almost 1 quarter of the plots have frozen at more than 70%; which probably means a loss of almost the entire grape harvest in these vineyards. This is obviously a disaster, especially after several years already difficult in terms of quantities, especially because of hail. A large half of the Burgundy vineyard is doing well, but that's not much. It is absolutely necessary that no other climate drama occurs for this 2016 vintage which finally promises to be quite bad.
