Experimented on the vines of Burgundy for 3 years, the anti-hail nets have just been officially authorized by the INAO, including on the vines classified in PDO (as is the case in Burgundy), or in PGI. Hail is a calamity for wine producers, it destroys the entire vine in its path. As a result, the harvest of the year is of course destroyed, and sometimes in its entirety, and in addition the vine takes several years to recover and to produce grapes again normally. Hail nets are part of the range of struggle. If they are expensive, difficult to implement, they make it possible to prevent more effectively the consequences of hail showers on vineyards.
