Saturday, January 30, the representatives of 58 wine villages of Burgundy met at the castle of the Clos de Vougeot for a rotating Saint-Vincent in reduced format, sanitary context requires. Usually, this great festival of Burgundy winegrowers welcomes tens of thousands of curious people every year. No tastings, no tourists, no gala evening: the 77th Saint-Vincent Tournante had to refocus on the essentials in 2021. The Burgundy winegrowers' festival was held in Vougeot on Saturday 30 January without the general public, around a strictly ceremonial program. Only representatives of 58 mutual aid societies (there is one per wine village) made the trip. They attended the mass of Saint-Vincent (the Saint of the winegrowers), given at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.

Puligny's edition postponed

Saint-Vincent 2021 was originally supposed to animate the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Blagny and Corpeau throughout the weekend. Tens of thousands of wine lovers, France and elsewhere, were expected. But the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic had pushed the Brotherhood of the Knights of Tastevin, organizer, to postpone the event. This one will finally be held in 2022, the same weekend. "In this particular year, already marked by the postponement of the Saint-Vincent de Puligny-Montrachet which was to receive the statues this year, there was no question of giving up. Vincent Barbier and Arnaud Orsel, respectively Grand Master and General Intendant of the Brotherhood, have actively mobilized to make this edition possible and imagine a configuration compatible with the constraints of current events," says the Brotherhood. . Guests who imagined "an invitation in the form of a protective mask, decorated in the colors and with the weapons of the Brotherhood. This invitation mask has thus turned into a useful and unprecedented pass!". Throughout the event, "a rigorous sanitary system was deployed in the various reception areas".
