On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Saint-Véran appellation has seen big! In addition to having celebrated its ½ century in June 2022, the appellation is releasing a comic strip.

In collaboration with comedian Lyonnais Sellig and Bamboo editions (based in Charnay-Lès-Mâcon), it is a major project with local roots that is born. “We wanted this fiftieth anniversary to leave a timeless mark,” says Kevin Tessieux, President of the appellation. A comic strip entitled Les fondus du vin Saint-Véran, which completes the Les Fondus du vin range. Particularity? This is the very first issue dedicated to a single appellation; historically, it is rather the wines of an entire wine region that we discover there.

Humorous and educational
Here, therefore, it is the Saint-Véran appellation that is in the spotlight: its history, its specificities, its anecdotes, its personalities, etc. through pages of gags featuring the famous heroes of the series, but not only. Sellig also had the right to his character, because it is his adventures within the Mâconnais vineyard that the comic strip transcribed. A more didactic file closes the title with a more “serious” approach to the Cru and the Mâconnais vineyard in general, written by Jean-Philippe Chapelon of the magazine Bourgogne Aujourd’hui.

It is therefore under the wise advice of the Bamboo Edition teams, with Richez as screenwriter and Saive as designer, that Sellig and the Cru Saint-Véran were able to try out this very particular style of communication. The comic strip is currently on sale at the appellation office and has been available since March 8 at the usual points of sale.

Public sale price: €11.90 including tax on sale at the Cru Saint-Véran office
